The mayor of Portland, OR is following me
The Open Government gang sign
I’m going to pretend that I mean he’s been tailing me ever since I left OSCON 2010.
In all seriousness, I think that this is objectively AWESOME and if my town even had a mayor I’d want her or him to follow the heck out of me. Open Government, FTW!
On a related note, these are good people and I’m looking forward to contributing in the...

my lady was asked to type "flubbing huge"
by a reCAPTCHA while signing up for a Twitter account. I now officially love reCAPTCHA that much more. Immediately following this event, my lady says,

to which she answered herself with
What else? Follow Conan O’Brien
I love my wife. Lots.
This is from the first row of image results for flubbing huge:

make: *** No rule to make target `money'. Stop.
It’s not that I don’t have enough money. I live a very privileged life in this here fattest state of the fattest nation in the world.
I just don’t trust myself to do simple arithmetic — specifically for balancing my checkbook.

truncated work weeks deserve epic tuesdays
…which is why I’m starting mine with some very much epic John Adams a la Harmonielehre. There’s something very focusing about

my son likes trucks and I blame megafauna
Motorcycles, trains and airplanes, too … loud machines … you get it.
I started noticing when he was super little. His mostly-immobile head would turn just a bit when the school bus drove past in the morning. He would do the same for distant trains. He still does it.
I have to think there’s an evolutionary advantage to this. My wife and I have talked about this a decent...

another go at it
Wordpress got old real quick-like. I never got around to setting up Pyblosxom. Folks I trust use tumblr. Here goes:
Not that I’m really expecting anybody to read this, but I thought it might be time to give the blogging thing another shot, not least so that I can record the amazing daily events being produced by my wife and child. To be sure, it is an adventure. That is all.
